I am just returning to painting after too many years (decades), having studied painting at Massachusetts College or Art in the 1980s. And I have with something of a vengeance.
I have many interests, including abstraction, automatism, process, discovering things that I continue to not know. I'm influenced by much of modern art -- from early constructivism to abstract surrealism to abstract expressionism. And yet I seek my own, authentic vision. I believe an artist should continue exploring, be versatile, and not become a commodity.
