Alejandra Delfau

I born in Santiago Chile in September 1981, where I have been living so far.

Art has always been part of my life. My inspiration comes from what is happening in my interior world, so it changes with what I am living, with my experiences and moods. My work expressed what I'm feeling, what I'm seeing every day: my own world.
I like that my paint express freedom, the freddom that I feel when I paint, getting in to a free world, feeling as a child again, with no room for mistakes and no judgement.
My paintings are based in layers. usually I don’t start with a predefined concept, I discover through the different layers the images that finally create the final painting.

This is same as life, we cover and we take out layers to get to knowed ourselfs and grow. My work is a mirror of what I`m living in in my life.

I mix different materials to be free to create new things all the time, so I use many materials: ink, acrilic, oil, paper, water-colour, tranfers, pencils and new materials that I'm discovering. My paints are in canvas as also in paper.
