Agata Lo Monaco

Agata Lo Monaco's approach to photography starts during her studies at
the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania, Sicily. Since then, she explores the
themes of photo-reporting. From 2012, she focuses her analysis in
sexuality and gender related issues. She studies, and enter in that world
knows of some characters of the scene Drag King in Italy. She starts to
study in-depth the Italian Drag King scene, meeting some of its
protagonists. One of her photos was selected by the authors of –Il re nudofrom
photographic archive on the phenomenon of the Drag King in Italy.
Between 2013 and 2014, she has been researching on the reality of trans
people in Granada with the project Nosotres - Lives beyond binaris.
Nosotres has been published by L'Espresso in May 2014, and was one of
the winner of the Italian Art Factory Fair for the Young Artists section.
