I have been working on this body of work ‘My Intergenerational Connection’ for nine years.

It feels like it has only been a minute, I obsess and constantly think about how I want this series to transpire. Being a disciplined artist and honouring the practice, l have come to understand the creative mind and emotional being have their own intentions. I allow each canvas its own time to teach me.
Ultimately I want to see the images I imagine emerge in the layers of my paintings - I follow a multi layered technique using oil, acrylic, prints and copied photographs of my family. These are hidden moments and memories that are an integral part of my process, each layer of the paintings are brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles or other family members.

Through this memoir and the exploration of materials, colour, form and depth, an intuitive beautiful experience is captured for my viewers to then hold their own connection.

When l graduated from school l went on to study Fashion Design. After about a year and a half l took an elective subject which allowed me to be in the painting studio at RMIT technical College, it wasn’t long before l transferred.
