Akachukwu, chukwuemeka (akabeks) was born in Amata Mgbowo of Enugu State in Nigeria. He is a 1998 graduate of painting from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a studio artist residing in Abuja, Nigeria.
My art is like a collection of short stories. Each piece is a complete narrative yet, each piece is a part of other pieces. My current works explore narratives of writers of African descent using synthetic dye and acrylic on canvas. I am particularly interested in books listed in ‘African Writers Series' because they tell undiluted African stories, and books by writers of ‘Igbo origin’ because they speak to ‘my soul’.
