Alessia Correani

30 years old italian artist, born and raised in Rome, lived in the UK for almost eight years. First in London, then Bristol and Birmingham. Currently living in Rome. My scientific degree in Visual Cognition contributes to the developement of my creative projects, being an inspiration for my art work, which I carry on doing since I was young.My artistic research is applyed to new materials, techniques and artistic creations playing with the difference between perception and vision which entails the intriguing differece between what the human visual system physically processes and what can consciously percieve, which often is not the same thing.My production consists in paintings and photographs, as well as small installations and video performances.
