Alessio Onnis

Biography

Alessio Onnis was born in San Gavino Monreale (Cagliari) in 1979. He lives between Guspini (VS) and Sassari. Work in the fields of painting, photography, engraving. He studied and graduated at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Sassari.

Enigmatic female figures set against a purplish background.
The graphic line and essential fluid surrounds mostly flat backgrounds that alternate juxtaposed with fine decorative carved detail to evoke the presence alienating. Dark silent figures in a solemn setting. Between tradition and innovation, these enigmatic characters immersed in a timeless atmosphere, stuck in their eerie stillness, as a reason to investigate - from beyond courtly conceptualisms - issues such as the transience of human existence, death and the inexorable passage of time.
