Alexa Cesaroni

I live and work as painter and illustrator in Rome, Italy.
My artistic work is focused on the search for my identity, a way of introspection.
My artworks are "places" where space and time are indefinite, where past and future intertwine with the present, places where space is full of fantastic, symbolic or surreal atmospheres.
The search for these places happens through the myth that I use to explain reality, the deep order of life and death, what happen in past, present and future.
The myth is a language, a model that exists through words and tales of human stories, so in my artworks I translate the language of myth into pictorial images searching for a balance and a dialogue between my identity and the reality that surrounds me.
My pictorial style is figurative, the subjects I paint find expression in single paintings or in series.
I approach to the themes initially in a reflective way, then designed way and in the realization part in a more instinctive way. I choose the fluidity of the oil or the dry body of the pastel, two techniques at the antipodes for the final effect and execution, but both have a full-bodied yield of powerful and exciting colors
