Alex Dobo

Alex Dobo was born in Hungary and immigrated to Canada during the revolution. With art in his DNA, he was classically trained at Western Tech art school in Toronto and then graduated from Sheridan College Oakville where he studied graphic design. Rather than face unemployment, he taught himself to transfer his drawing skills using Apple technology. Self-taught - that was a challenging year!

After meeting iconic New York designer/art director Herb Lubalin, Alex had an epiphany and decided to pursue a career in design. He is drawn towards geometric concepts in his paintings because he is heavily influenced by things that illogically fit together but seemingly should not. Alex also recognizes the importance of bright colours because even if people don't believe that they like bright colours, they are instinctively drawn towards them nevertheless.

Even though this prolific, talented, multi-award-winning artist's style has evolved into the next span, he will never stop exploring and mastering his craft. Riddled with clever and subtle nuances, he has found ways to connect his art with his audience on many levels.
