Alicja Swiatlon

I was born in Poland where I graduated from the University of Arts in Poznan, Poland with Distinction earning my MFA in Painting, as well as MFA in Art Education. I have been exhibiting paintings ever since. My paintings are studies of colour, inspired by nature and brought into minimal abstract form, often large in scale. When doing an individual exhibit I will often choose to create an installation of paintings, dedicated to the Gallery space.

In the years 2008-2013 I spent five years working as a volunteer at Camphill Village West Coast in South Africa. I moved to Calgary in August 2008 where I continue my passion for painting creating art works inspired by Calgary Sky and Canadian nature as well as memories from South Africa.
