Alan Lee Varker

Born in Swindon, Wiltshire in 1976.My work is concerned with the human form, the tradition of mark making and surface history, colour and composition.The revision of matters in aesthetics and beauty in art and culture that include image and self-obsession, status, societal expectation, personal values and materialism. My paintings explore the human form and are often depicted in mainly gestural or 'loose' settings where one or two figures interact and exist with each other and the onlooker. Current themes also explore the nature of how individuals occupy a space and how it relates to the proximity of others and then environment around them.

Graduated in 1998 with University of Liverpool degree in Art. Exhibited in group and solo shows across Chester, Salisbury, Southport, Wirral and North Wales from 2000-2015. Featured artist in Artists & Illustrators Nov 2001 and Jan 2002.,
