Amanda Jane emerged as an artist just 4 years ago.
After a near-fatal car accident, Amanda spent 3 months in hospital. She suffered from a fractured arm, pelvis, jaw and both legs. Following her physical recovery, she was left with severe depression and memory loss. A lengthy period of rehabilitation followed.
As her recovery continued, Amanda began to rediscover her creative muse and channeled her artistic skills by creating unique sculptures that exploded with a myriad of colours. Her creations became therapy for her ongoing post-traumatic-stress disorder.
Amanda saw the sculptures as her ‘Furry Anti-Depressants'.
Her works received such positive responses, people were keen to purchase these bespoke pieces.
This led to an exhibition of her work along with several other established artists at the Vivid Gallery in Surry Hills, in 2019.
Amanda sold five of her sculptures at the exhibition. One of her most ambitious pieces was bought by Heath Johns (CEO BMG Music) at the outset of the show.
Following the success of the Vivid exhibition, Amanda was invited to exhibit her first solo show at the iconic Bondi Pavilion Gallery.
