Amanda Moody

What North Carolina artist Amanda Moody tends to create is not for the faint of heart; Her paintings are dynamic and full of movement, color, and dimension, yet also can have a calming and meditational effect on the viewer. Many times multiple layers of resin and medium are layered to create a 3D effect. Consisting of a fine balance between the organic and graphic, what a person sees from far away tends to shift as they move in for a more magnified view. The suspension of medium between the layers of resin give a shadowbox effect reminiscent of lenticular art and reverse carvings.

Amanda is a native Charlotte, NC contemporary artist specializing in mixed media, fluid abstract expressionist and layered resin art. She has also digitally translated many of her original pieces into textile and surface design and wall coverings, including repeat patterns and non-repeating macro murals. Amanda creates from her home studio in Weddington, NC.
