When I am not creating art I am daydreaming about it. I imagine each step while I go about my day cleaning or working. I'll get flashes of images to paint. Some days I get several at once. I keep a sketchbook handy to draw out the ideas. I feel like I never have enough time.
I have been creating work for 20 years, selling it for 10. I have paintings in private collections world wide.
I paint figurative, realistic, portraits of women; usually with some surrealist bent. My focus is identity, especially of women. Reality as we see it. The truth underneath the approved story of society. I seek my own freedom and hope to become liberated through my chosen discipline.
I paint primarily in oil on board or canvas. I am an explorer, not a crafts person. I get bored with repeating "what works", so I try new ideas all the time. There are thousands of ways to make a painting. Taking different paths lead me to new places.
