Ana Maria Velasco

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Ana lives and works in between Brooklyn, New York and Colombia. Growing up, she moved between Nicaragua (her mother’s homeland); Colombia while and Cambridge, MA. These inspiring and deferent environments heightened Ana Maria’s sense of awareness and solidified her motivation to use art as a way to spark reflection and conversation.

MFA from The School of The Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Tufts University (1999). She studied at El Conservatorio de Bellas Artes (1995) and Universidad Javeriana in Cali, Colombia (1994). She has been learning Tibetan Art for a decade at The New York Tibetan Art Studio
