MFA, Full Sail University, Media Design. Freelance artist and graphic designer Completed a refresher course online from MOMA recently. It was inspiring and informative, I am an artist who prefers to paint en plein air landscapes in oils, as well as abstracts in acrylic. For now I am a studio artist. I traveled and lived in the Pacific Northwest for 5 years. I have lived in many regions of the U.S. and have traveled to Mexico, Switzerland and Canada.
I paint portraits, landscapes and abstracts.
I have studied art in college off and on since 1980.
I would like to make art that speaks to people and stirs their emotions- not just a trendy piece or an accepted current statement popular in the media. I hope to teach a fun art intro class to children under 8 years old a few times a week at some point in the future. I have not been able to keep most of my paintings as I traveled or moved frequently but prints are available. I plan to create 5 large canvas paintings by graduation this coming August.

I have a B.A. in English Literature and an MFA in media design. My favorite poet was Wallace Stevens because he was a traveling claims adjustor as well as an artist. I first studied art at Brandeis University when I was young. I spent 6 months there learning to draw boxes, self portraits, paint abstracts, create sculpture, collage and to do charcoal still life. I also studied art history with an emphasis on the modern American abstract painters like Rothko and Pollock. I went to Taos to see the country that Georgia O'Keefe painted. From my earliest years in highschool, I had a preference for the soft edges of Cezanne and the vivid primary colors of Kandinsky, as well as the early painters of the American frontier. I've returned to art throughout my life.
