Andreea Mihalka was born in 1996, in a village in Bistrița-Năsăud County, Romania. She graduated from the "Corneliu Baba" High School of Arts in Bistrița, Architecture department. After that, she attended the Faculty of Fine Arts, Graphics Department, at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. She earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Visual Arts.
Andreea is currently enrolled in doctoral studies in Visual Arts at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca.
Andreea also studied history at the Faculty of History and Philosophy, Babeș-Bolyai University, in Cluj-Napoca. The subjects of her works are inspired by her interest in personal roots and offering an alternative to the crowded and hurried life of the 21st century.
The artist uses various techniques: traditional drawing, digital drawing, engraving, image transfer, analog photography, digital photography and digitally processed photography. In her works, Andreea pursues what is left now from the last century life. Romania is a country where traditional and modern life coexist, which offers a diverse range of issues, but also opportunities.
