Angela Alvarez

Angela Alvarez was born and raised in Colorado and is a self taught artist who began developing her interest in art at an early age. She expressed her first serious interest in art when she was 8 years old sitting outside with her grandma drawing pictures of the garden in her yard. She spent her youth drawing religious saints, cartoon characters, stickers that she would get from the 25 cents machines, animals, objects, florals, landscapes, to drawing her siblings. She started selling her drawings in school because she had a dream in fulfilling her dream of being an artist. As a teenager she went on to study art and design at (D.S.A) Denver School Of The Arts. She still remembers the struggle when she was working on her first portrait. But some persistence, handwork, practice and passion has helped her along the way. Practice is the key! As an artist, she always felt the journey is the reward. While it hasn't always been easy, it's always been deeply gratifying and she hopes that she can be an inspiration to others to seek out their purpose through their passion.
