I was born in California and moved to Tucson, Arizona as a child where my family has lived since the 1920's. I didn't begin creating art until I was in my 30's believing that I made stick figures look bad. I began painting not caring what it looked like or if anyone liked it. I did it to stay sane. Floweing an assault I became addicted to drugs and ultimately lost everything, my children, home, job, almost my life. Art saved me. It gave me a place to be, to exist, without having to use words or explain. From my earliest work the emotion put into them was evident. Almost ten years later the emotions are just as real but my art has grown through my journey towards healing. I now also work as a peer work other people in recovery and facing similar life challenges to the ones I have overcome.
I am self-taught, with one intro to art class at the local community College. I love to watch other artists online to learn new ways to create. Most often, I end up learning by going, gee I wonder what would happen if I...
