Angelo Volpe was born in 1976 in Pozzuoli (Naples).
From 2002 to 2007, he cooperated as assistant with international artists such as Sol LeWitt, David Tremlett and Thomas Hirschhorn.
In 2011 he participated at 54th International Art Exhibition “Biennale di Venezia”
The Angelo Volpe’s artistic research focuses on the analysis of a World that produces and emits an overload of symbols and images through different kind of mass media, with a hectic pace, able to bypass the thought. Although his poetry is shown through different mediums, Volpe's favourite expression remains the painting. This language is based on an eclectic and versatile aesthetic, a visual Universe, where models and codes combine deliberately, looted from the commercial mainstream and mass media, where different formal types converge, such as videogame graphics, cartoon, digital images, trademarks and corporate logos. An expressive contamination that is a unique and eccentric artistic idiom, which is characterized by a chromaticism pictorial lit and brilliant, that is expressed in a unique and prestigious style. His works reflect non-places, where personal and social imagery of the 21th century collide and merge onto the surface of the canvas, creating a collapse ...
In 1995 he obtained the Diploma “Applied Art in Graphic for the Advertising and Photography”. In 2000 he completed his education with a “Degree in Painting”, achieved at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples.
