Anne Mousley

I trained as a jeweller and silversmith graduating from Glasgow School of Art in 2007. Since graduating I have spent a lot of time with my family on the Italian island of SIcily where I have continued to make both jewellery pieces and art. The colours and landscape of the area directly inspire my work as well as the natural world and my own personal experiences and emotions. I naturally gravitate towards bright colours and textures; collage being my preferred medium. My mark making is free and intuitive over the texture to give a sense of spontaneity to the overall composition. I want my compositions to feel free, happy and unconstrained. I draw inspiration from artists such as Robert Motherwell, Anne Ryan and Robert Rauschenberg.
