Athina Panousi

The transition from the so-called "flat" two-dimensional surfaces to the physically compelling three-dimensional (substantial, or otherwise) organisms encircling the human species is the core of my work. There is a constant struggle to leave all acquired taboos behind and watch as the artist and the work fall apart as a result of direct interaction with the world that lies outside walls. A constant experimentation with new impulsive mixing methods, materials and observation are the most rewarding part of the work. Last-but not least-comes the occasion on which the artist leaves the work at the mercy of others, so that anyone can join in and become the artist, the work and/or part of it. Documentation is "raw"; no work has been especially arranged for it.
