The work contrasts the dystopian industrial imagery found in Northern Yorkshire towns alongside a fascination with post-war interior design, taking inspiration from the colour and forms once used.
There is an evolution between the dimensions of sculpture and design, rearranging everyday industrial and discarded interior objects to create structures with ambiguous use. This transition between sculpture and design rotates around the conception of function, and seeks to promote design objects in a gallery setting.
The sculptures challenge this concept of a gallery, aiming to display both a remote and familiar domestic intimacy.
