BETWEEN THE GAME AND THE DIVINE
Cycle of Artworks based on an unpublished "reading" of Florence, marked between Metaphysics and Surrealism, through singular interactions between what characterizes the important history of the "lily city" and symbolic elements such as playing cards, chess, masks, mysterious faces, or part of them, emerging from the backdrop or the magic of historical architectures. The "suits" of playing cards (Diamonds, Clubs, Spades, Hearts) represent the four elements of the ancients: Earth, Water, Air, Fire, i.e. the four natures in which creation is manifested, or even, in Alchemy, they can represent "trials" ("earth trial", "water trial", "air trial" and "fire trial"), as symbols of the progressive stages of human development.
