Tricia Van Eck is Associate Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago where she recently curated a major survey of Mark Bradford's work, and "˜Interactions', a four- month series of artist and audience activations as a performative companion to the exhibition "˜Without You I Am Nothing: Art and Its Audience', which she co-curated. Many of her exhibitions have been audience engaged, experimental, or communal-based such as the ongoing performative series "˜Here/Not There', Jan Tichy's "˜Project Cabrini Green', "˜Hide and Seek: An Out of Gallery Experience', "˜Theaster Gates: Temple Exercises' and Tino Sehgal's "˜Kiss'. She has organized the Chicago presentations of various traveling exhibitions ranging from "˜Buckminster Fuller: Starting with the Universe' to "˜Andy Warhol: Supernova: Stars, Death, and Disasters, 1962-1964'. She has curated several exhibitions of Chicago artists including "˜Mapping the Self' and with Elizabeth T Smith, "˜Kerry James Marshall: One True Thing Meditations on Black Aesthetics', as well as numerous "˜UBS 12 x 12: New Artists/New Work exhibitions', which showcase the work of emerging Chicago artists.
