Precious Bowls

My Precious Bowls series is inspired by kintsugi: a Japanese artform where broken porcelain is repaired using gold. Intrigued also by the Japanese idea of wabisabi, seeing beauty in imperfection - whilst the intrinsic beauty remains, the flaw is given respect and the preciousness enhanced. This concept has resonance for so many people.
