This is a collection of the square (36" X 36") icons devoted to the great Cosmopolis as a grotesque environment and a reign of variety and diversity of all kind. The title contains a strong allusion to “Illuminations” by Arthur Rimbaud. Urban lifeworld is intensely poetic. Jean Paul Sartre wrote in his essay “Baudelaire”: “A city is a perpetual creation: its buildings, smells, sounds and traffic belong to the human kingdom. Everything in it is poetry in the strict sense of the term.”
