Colorized Past

HISTORY IN COLOR: Up until the 1970s, color photography was rare. Thus, our vision of history is so often in black and white only. Rare colorized historical photos are our only chance at seeing what the world really looked like...and, boy, was it spectacular to see history in color? Colorized Past photographs will change our perception of history dramatically. Colorizing historic photographs from the late 1800s and early 1900s changes their appearance from something historic and different, into a scene from today. Black and white photos often make events and moments in recent history feel older than they really are. As a result, we usually don't relate to them as we do with a photo that is in color.
