CUBISM

Reality is reduced to great mathematical forms and planes of global color. Sometimes these forms retain the three dimensionality of reality (cubes, cones, pyramids), and sometimes they have adapted to the two dimensional plane (squares, circles or parts of them) - For instance, we will recognize a human face because of the eyes, nose and mouth. For a Cubist these are often of secondary importance and nothing more than corners or rounded lines. All is material for the artistic composition.
