Intimacy & Desire

After my wife was diagnosed with cancer, I began this series of drawings; the focus is on relationships and intimacy. Each of us has our person, a specific individual best suited for us. Gender and gender roles are not essential, nor are they required, nor are societal norms. Each of us needs to connect with our specific person, and how the need manifests itself depends on the relationship between the individuals. Through these connections, we find our true selves and, by extension, inner peace. In this body of work, I convey the intimacy and tenderness felt between lovers and significant others, whether together or apart.
