Iconic Portraits

My goal is to eliminate everything unnecessary in order to find the absolute core character of my subject. I go over the oil-on-canvas portrait multiple times with a tiny brush in order to achieve a refined finished look that has the same feeling as a sketch. I use real gold (23K gold leaf) for highlights and effect.
