In the Garden

The ongoing mixed media series explores the dichotomy of cultural heritage and modernism. How some cultures are able to honor and bring along elements from their heritage into the future. The kimono is symbolic of Japanese heritage, tradition, and craft, and like so many other traditions, coexists with contemporary designs. But how does it reflect the modern woman? In a contemporary environment? This series features mixed media (photo transfer, acrylic, washi, oil pastel, wax) on paper, canvas, and wood panel.
