These paintings are inspired by the Japanese technique of golden joinery or repair known at kinsugi or kintsukuroi. "As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise." Our human minds and souls are also precious like aged stone, we each have our individual histories often fractured and broken. With time and care the repairs can be seen and the damaged pieces transformed into a stronger more beautiful version of the former. This collection celebrates the mending of human minds and souls.
