Lamellae

A collection of paintings inspired by the layers, or lamellae, seen every day in nature. Whether it's leaves, petals, or swirls in a liquid these solid shapes guide our eye giving form and movement. This work was initially inspired by the newly unearthed mosaics in Pompeii and the fabulous stained-glass windows at Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona.
