Main Street-Markings

The Main Street series explores issues dealing with human connection. In this case, I wanted to study this common surface structure that we exploit daily and which connects us all. As I was creating the images for this series, it was often difficult to find a clear surface, one without markings of some sort. Age, economic circumstances and years of use seemed to create a de facto form of abstract art, often reminiscent of famous artists’ work. The series ended up in 3 parts: Surface, Color and Markings.
