Manoeuvred Matter

A series of paintings centred around the human figure. The works are largely abstractions of the figure, alluding to certain aspects of the human anatomical form. During this series Myers regularly spent a lot of time at a drawing school studying human anatomy and life drawing - his drawings would often form the initial part of his paintings whilst allowing the paint gestures and marks to build up in a more abstracted way. His paintings will often allude to specific human-esque shapes and structures; essentially the images were right on the cusp of being figurative without being truly straightforward figurative depictions.
