Digital Drawing. These drawings are part of the process of making oil paintings that are based on initial ink drawings. The ink drawings are made from observations of people, from memory and from found images that resonate with my experiences of working with people in a community context in east London at the Bromley by Bow Centre. I photograph the drawings and colour them digitally and then combine them together to create multi-figure compositions, these compositions are squared up and the image is transferred by drawing a grid on the canvas and redrawing the line drawing in a traditional technique, similar to that used by painters in the Renaissance and by mural painters such as Diego Rivera.
