Golden Disparities
"Golden Disparities" curated from the "Disparate Renewal" series (2013-present). Crafted on merchant posters found near my studio, these pieces use letterpress posters once ubiquitous in LA, now mostly found in and around socioeconomically challenged areas. Reclaimed materials from construction sites spark memories forcing viewers to form unique relationships with the work. Golden lines unite, weaving harmonious forms with individual voices. Displayed at MOAH:Cedar, Lancaster Museum of Art, in summer 2023, the twelve works formed a singular "Impact Wall" inviting immersion in woven connections with material, meaning, layers of memories, and the fleeting of time. Post-show, the artworks reclaimed their individuality as singular identities.
