Abstract

part of a series of paintings with more or less abstract conception, based on views of landscapes, cities, people etc. depth and strong colours. my intention is to concentrate the composition to the very essence of the motive. avoid all distracting elements. and stress a strong calligraphic brushstroke, that adds energy to the painting. it shall be visible how the painting was done in different layers. mostly starting with the black ink, then adding the acrylic paint and continue with highlighting some parts with soft oil pastels, which intensify the colours in some spots. also adding texture to the surface.
