Stained Glass
For me drawing and painting are a struggle between Control and Letting Go. These Stained Glass Paintings reflect that struggle. The original lines are geometric shapes drawn with a pencil taped to the end of a 4 foot dowel; definitely a loss of Control. Those lines are then inked over. Regaining Control, I spend some time inking in overlapping shapes that I find interesting. I finish up searching out a few of the original underlying geometric shapes and, using translucent watercolors, color in those shapes.
