The Controlled Wild

The paintings in the controlled wild series are based on my experiences at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, located in Commerce City in north Denver, as well as my experiences along the front range and mountain region west of Denver. The paintings are a reflection of the tension in the regional west between the wild, and wildness, and the control and boundaries being exerted by humans.
