Shadi Collection. Summer 2010. Washington, DC

This series was created while in residence in Washington, D.C. summer 2010. The paintings were inspired by Middle Eastern tapestries hanging on the wall in a friend's home. The challenge was to create a coherent series of work based on these patterns. While i would consider this work non-objective, shapes and colors combine to suggest animal forms, street scenes, floating on the ocean, looking in to deep space.
