String Art

For a few months now, I have been wanting to work on a painting(s) without using brushes. I have quite a bit of string, twine, and rope in my studio and came up with the idea of painting a sheet of watercolor paper with a solid color, allowing it to dry, then dipping the string into the watercolor ground and laying it gently onto the paper. By doing this, I created quite an interesting abstract. It was very well received at my open studio event recently. I intend to create a collection of four. I will be using both the Iridescent Gold and Pearlescent White grounds. Please come back to this site often as I intend to add three more string art paintings.
