The driving forces behind my work are the conjoining of high structure and science with random and unconscious processes. A thirty year interest in meditation and the tenets of Taoism feed strongly into my practice. One of the major principles I bear in mind while creating is 'the balance of opposites'. The paintings take on a performative and transcendental role. Each whole static painting can be reconfigured into billions of combinations. Their deconstruction and reformulation is determined by a random computer program, written specifically for the work.
