The Theory of Everything explores representations of concepts and objects that I am unable to photograph. Each piece is created by appropriating a conceptual image from the internet, effectively “street shooting” online, and re-contextualizing it in Photoshop by editing out all distracting visual information, placing the image on a black background. The digital works are then made into digital negatives, and contact printed in the darkroom to create a unique silver gelatin print out of what was once an image in a Google search. Each piece depicts an object that is either too large, too small, visually nonexistent, or otherwise impossible for me to photograph.
