Trees

The term coconut was attributed by the Portuguese in the Asian territory of Malabar, during Vasco da Gama's trip to India (1497-1498), based on the association of the appearance of the fruit, seen from the end, in which the endocarp and germination pores they resemble the face of a coke (masculine, coconut), an imaginary monster that children are scared of (the same as bogeyman; ogre).
