Watermelons

The freshest collection, it is sincere, frank, youthfully rebellious and without doubts the most ornamental. In these works a pattern becomes an end in itself and the main artistic technique. Forthrightly and unpretentiously I combine two systems of ornament, the pattern of the main background and artistic rhythm which is set by location of things on the altar table. As if I superimpose different film-strips I displace them, creating another metaphysical reality. Traditional principle of arranging items in still life gives way to picturesque music notebook. The plane of canvas seems to be drawn by regular parallel lines and I string on them decorative items-symbols.
