The Philosopher Jean Paul Sartre once wrote "You are what you are not and are not what you are." For me the meaning behind this is monumental to my artistic practice. As an artist my main focus is in portraiture. I forever question what makes us who we are distorting and recreating what I see. Often this is done through a combination of light, colour and texture. The end result is less an absolute likeness and more a raw reimagining based on my own personal experience.
