Works on Paper
My works on paper are subjective and often relate to personal experiences, emotional reactions to today's happenings, and my love of the ballet, gardens, and music.
My process consists of using Arches 300lb paper which I saturate with a mixture of dark colored watercolors. I then tear the sheet into random pieces. I assemble chosen pieces and then arrange them into a pattern. Once the pattern is finalized I glue the pieces together. I then saturate the torn edges with watercolor. Once the work is glued together I do a drawing in white pencil and then color the work with oil pastels. The text around the perimeter usually states the title and emphasizes the texture and shape of each work.
