About The Artwork

At far right we see a bright orange orb - a sun perhaps or some other sphere of energy. It radiates blue lines of perspective, leading our gaze to an oddly-shaped box. It occurs to us that this box may have just burst open, for out of it floats a large black balloon, or a thought bubble, or a poem, casting a most satisfying blue shadow. As we venture leftward we encounter some turbulence in the form of some red and orange lines; let's call it a sawtooth wave and the chaotic path traced by an electron. Just as we become aware of our unease, our gaze drifts downward to the glowing square, which puts us into a soothing, trance-like state. This item is a collage on warm gray Canson Mi Teintes paper. The materials used are paper, acrylic, charcoal, chalk pastel, and colored pencil. There is a 1-inch border around the image to allow for framing. The front of the painting is signed. The back of the painting is dated and titled. A certificate of authenticity is included. This item is listed as unframed but framing is available - message me for details!

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I create abstract art with a focus on gestural abstraction, mark-making, geometry, and color. My work begins with rudimentary shapes or forms. As I explore their properties they often mutate and interact in unexpected ways. Additionally, I find that certain colors seem to resonate with each other. I find it valuable to view multiple finished works together, either actively or unconsciously. Sometimes, just seeing multiple works near each other through my peripheral vision will inspire one or more new works. In this way my discoveries continually compound and combine to yield new ones. I want to create things people haven't seen before. In doing this I hope to remind the viewer what it feels like to experience a particular color, smell, or other sensation for the first time. I hope to build a visual world which is strange, playful, intriguing and enduring. I am based in Cleveland, Ohio.
